MEET Greg gilmour

Greg Gilmour has been in the real estate business for an impressive 47 years. Throughout his time, he worked with a “if you build it they will come” vision, Greg was just 26 years old when he brought the unheard of RE/MAX Brand and Concept to Mississauga, Ontario. Greg is a pioneer in the real estate industry where he introduced the unique concept of hiring only top notch sales people. Greg Co-Founded RE/MAX Realty Specialists Inc. Brokerage with Sylvia Babineau, another top salesperson and together they recruited about 20 people in the first 60 days! He was young, energetic, well liked, and had so much enthusiasm it was infectious.

Greg’s real estate empire flourished, growing from just 20 sales people to over 430 sales associates today, working out of five locations including three in Mississauga, one in Brampton and an office in Caledon. Greg is still as passionate today about his business and his people as the day he started.

Greg has won numerous real estate awards and was consistently a top salesperson in the industry since his first year in Real Estate. He has achieved every award possible from RE/MAX including Production Awards, Hall of Fame, Circle of Legends and the Distinguished Service Award for helping to build a dominating presence in Ontario.

Our sales people are more thoroughly trained and have a high focus on customer satisfaction.” Greg is known for his fearlessness, boundless energy and willingness to jump in and do the unexpected. In other words, he’s RE/MAX to the core and he instills this attitude in his Leadership Team. Greg has always had an open door policy and is always ready to help or offer advice. He is available to his Leadership Team and all his agents day or night. “I really love seeing how my salespeople can totally take charge of their lives and make a lifestyle change just by acting on all the training we provide”, says Greg. “I still love helping people buy a home or sell an existing property. Helping them make good decisions creates repeat customers.”

Greg grew up in Etobicoke and went to Kipling Collegiate. He takes on most challenges with the expectation of success, like learning to kite surf, wake surf, climbing Everest, Kilimanjaro, challenging himself physically proves that he can take on business challenges. Greg believes that keeping physical strength helps maintain mental strength. In his spare time, Greg loves to spend time with family and friends: travel, play games, swim, ski, waterski, wakesurf, climb, and golf.

Greg’s best piece of advice to new and experienced agents is to control how much work you put into the hours. Create satisfied customers who will then refer you to their friends and relatives. People outside the industry don’t realize that we ensure that all our salespeople make customer satisfaction their primary goal and create a great reputation for our company.
